Jailer 2 box office collection has passed the ₹600 crore worldwide milestone, taking Rajinikanth’s action sequel beyond the target it was approaching earlier this week. Reports published on October 23 place its worldwide gross at ₹606.05 crore through Thursday, October 22. ndtv.com
The total includes ₹391.55 crore in India gross and ₹214.50 crore from overseas markets. The figures are trade estimates reported by news outlets citing Sacnilk. ndtv.com
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel released on October 15. Its latest milestone comes as attention shifts from the festive opening period to its second-weekend performance. The Economic Times

Day 8 Earnings Fall After the Festive Boost
The milestone arrived alongside a decline in domestic daily earnings.
Jailer 2 collected an estimated ₹17.15 crore net in India on Thursday, compared with ₹28.15 crore on Wednesday. That represents a reported drop of approximately 39.1%. Tamil News – The Indian Express
A cumulative milestone and a daily decline can happen together. The worldwide total continues to build even when individual days bring in less money than earlier screenings.
For the Jailer 2 box office collection, the next useful measure will be how strongly admissions recover over the second weekend. One weekday result alone cannot establish the film’s final theatrical total.
Tamil Leads the Day 8 Language Collections
The Tamil version remained the largest contributor to Thursday’s domestic business.
| Language Version | Day 8 India Net |
|---|---|
| Tamil | ₹10.75 crore |
| Telugu | ₹3.60 crore |
| Hindi | ₹2.40 crore |
| Kannada | ₹0.40 crore |
| Total | ₹17.15 crore |
The language breakdown reported by The Economic Times shows that Telugu, Hindi and Kannada screenings also contributed to the sequel’s domestic earnings. The Economic Times
Overseas Earnings Help Push the Film Past ₹600 Crore
The Indian Express reported that overseas markets added approximately ₹5 crore on Thursday, taking the international total to ₹214.50 crore. Tamil News – The Indian Express
Based on the reported worldwide total, overseas business accounts for roughly 35.4% of collections. This percentage is calculated from the published figures.
That contribution explains why domestic net earnings alone give an incomplete picture of the film’s commercial reach. Overseas gross needs to be considered alongside India gross when assessing its worldwide performance.
India Net and Worldwide Gross Are Different Measures
The Jailer 2 box office collection reports contain several figures that should not be used interchangeably.
India gross includes applicable entertainment taxes, while India net excludes them. Worldwide gross combines domestic gross with overseas gross.
For this report, the worldwide calculation is:
₹391.55 crore India gross + ₹214.50 crore overseas gross = ₹606.05 crore worldwide gross.
Adding India net to overseas gross would mix two different collection measures.
Allu Arjun Praises Rajinikanth and the Team
The film has also received public support from Allu Arjun.
The Economic Times reported that he praised Rajinikanth’s screen presence, Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction and Anirudh Ravichander’s music, describing the sequel as a commercial entertainer. The Economic Times
Celebrity reactions provide context around the film’s reception. They remain separate from the independently reported collection estimates.
What Is Jailer 2 About?
The sequel continues the story of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, played by Rajinikanth. New threats disrupt his attempt to protect his family and maintain an ordinary life.
The film brings back the central character from the 2023 original, with Nelson Dilipkumar directing and Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. ndtv.com
What Comes After the ₹600 Crore Milestone?
The reported Jailer 2 box office collection is now ₹43.95 crore short of ₹650 crore worldwide. That is a calculation based on the ₹606.05 crore snapshot, rather than a prediction.
Further growth will depend on the second weekend, continued overseas demand and the number of screenings retained.
The current update is clear: the film has reportedly crossed ₹600 crore already. A headline saying it merely “eyes” that mark would no longer reflect the available figures.
