The news that Nayanthara joins Dharman confirms her involvement. It does not yet establish whether she plays Rajinikanth’s romantic partner or another central character.
2. Ashwath Marimuthu Directs the Film
Ashwath Marimuthu is directing Dharman, marking his first collaboration with Rajinikanth.
The filmmaker previously directed Oh My Kadavule and Dragon. The Times of India reported that he also welcomed Nayanthara following the casting reveal. theprint.in

Rajinikanth and Nayanthara’s Previous Films
The Rajinikanth Nayanthara reunion follows a screen association spanning more than two decades.
| Film | Release year | Association |
|---|---|---|
| Chandramukhi | 2005 | Both appeared in the film |
| Sivaji | 2007 | Nayanthara appeared in the song “Balleilakka” |
| Kuselan | 2008 | Both appeared in the film |
| Darbar | 2020 | Both appeared in the film |
| Annaatthe | 2021 | Their most recent released collaboration |
Cinema Express distinguishes Nayanthara’s song appearance in Sivaji from the other films. This explains why reports can describe Dharman as their fifth or sixth collaboration, depending on whether that appearance is included. cinemaexpress.com
